Coal deliveries to two ports in Australia's Queensland state will be delayed after two train derailments yesterday, the Brisbane Times reported on its Web site. The derailment of an empty coal train on the Gregory branch line at Harrow creek left two loaded coal trains stranded on the way to ports at Dalrymple Bay and Hay Point, the Brisbane Times reported, citing a Queensland Rail
spokesman. A second derailment at the Jilalan rail yard will also disrupt rail services, the report said.
A total of 20 to 30 trains could be delayed by the derailment and it
may take several days to clear, the report said, citing the spokesman.
Queensland Rail may seek to divert coal deliveries to other ports, the
report said.
