APM Terminals has launched a pilot scheme to develop the skills of planners. The new "planning grooming" programme is called Sparkles. "The one-year programme gives candidates a chance to train in different fields of their jobs" said APM public relations manager Ali Al Khulaif. "It also gives them the chance to travel to one of our 55 terminals worldwide and see how employees in the same job work." Two planners already selected to participate in Sparkles are Abdul Al Mahmeed and Yasser Saeed.
"As this is the pilot scheme we only have two candidates but next year we hope to include more" said Mr Khulaif.
