In January-June, 2008, transshipment of liquid bulk cargo via Ukrainian seaports amounted to 14.13 million tones (+4.8%, or +647,000 tonnes, year-on-year). The growth rates decreased as compared with the first half of 2007: +11.4% and the H2 2007: +20.1%, RZD-Partner reports. Transit of liquid bulk cargo making over 70% of total throughput grew by 17%, while in 2007 it was
+28.2%.
The share of transit in transshipment of liquid bulk cargo fell from
87.7% in 2007 to current 75%, or 10.6 million tonnes. Export fell by
35% against January-June 2007 (-2 million tonnes).
Transshipment of crude oil amounted to 6.2 (+8.7%, year-on-year).
Transshipment of oil products fell by 19%, year-on-year, to 4.6 million
tonnes.
Transshipment of edible oil fell to 727,000 tonnes against over 1.1
million tonnes in H1 07. Transshipment of chemical cargo exceeded 2
million tonnes (-0.2 million tonnes against January-June 2007).
