Ninety-two ships are awaiting customs clearance to berth at the Lagos ports and jetties to discharge various cargoes. According to Shipping position of the Nigerian Ports Authority released on Monday in Lagos, 65 other ships are being expected to sail into the Lagos ports by Tuesday, 30 September.
The shipping position showed that 69 of the ships waiting to berth have
petroleum products on board, while the 23 other ships are laden with
soya bean, bulk cement, fish, containers, rice, used vehicles and bulk
wheat.
The ships expected to sail into Lagos ports have bulk cement, petroleum
products, rice, containers, bulk wheat, new and used vehicles and bulk
fertiliser on board.
It said that 19 other ships have been listed to arrive the Lagos ports within the first three weeks of October.
