Danish shipping group DFDS A/S said that it has agreed to purchase the ro-ro cargo vessels Finnmaster and Finnreel from British interests in order to further strengthen its services in the North Sea.The vessels, both built in 2000 at the JinLing shipyard in China, have a capacity of 1,900 lane metres.The purchases are part of DFDS's fleet renewal programme which will see the company invest DKK0.9bn before the end of 2009.DFDS, headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, is a leading Northern European provider of freight and passenger shipping, and terminal and trailer services. DFDS is listed on the OMX Nordic Exchange in Copenhagen.
