LA port to consider clean air proposals

The Port of Los Angeles today posted its final recommendations for a Port of Los Angeles Clean Truck Programme (CTP). The programme is designed to achieve long-term sustainability, accelerate the replacement of high-polluting trucks with cleaner trucks, and provide market incentives to encourage private investment and create a capitalised, asset-based short-haul trucking or''drayage'' system at the nation's largest container port. The Los Angeles Harbor Commission will consider the proposed Clean Truck Programme recommendations at its March 20 special board meeting.
