Singapore will invest US$260 million in a five-year port expansion project that will start this year, agencies report.The container handling capacity of the port is expected to jump 40 percent after expansion. The higher capacity will help the port meet increasing demands from foreign trades.Container throughput for February reached 4.63 million TEU, up 12 percent year on year, said PSA International. However, throughput for Jurong Port dropped 23 percent over the same month last year.
