The State Oil Co. of Azerbaijan announced a tender for its eighth delivery through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan for 1 million barrels of oil for April delivery. The marketing division of the State Oil Co. of Azerbaijan Republic said the tender included 1 million barrels of Azeri Light crude scheduled for shipment from the Turkish port of Ceyhan
starting April 1, the Azeri Press Agency reports.
SOCAR said its 2007 shipments from Ceyhan through BTC, the world's
second-longest oil pipeline, totaled 16.8 million barrels. Its 11
deliveries in 2008 from Ceyhan were lower at 10.95 million barrels.
The April shipment marks the eighth delivery of Azeri Light crude for
2009. Turkish state-owned pipeline firm BOTAS reported in January that
shipments through BTC passed 500 million barrels from June 2006.
Those reports came as Azerbaijan said Kazakh oil through BTC passed
120,000 barrels in January, following a late Kazakh debut in the
pipeline in the fall of 2008.
The majority of the reserves came from partners in the offshore
Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli field. ACG production for 2008 was 668,500
barrels per day, down from 2007 levels of 900,000 bpd.
