Miner Macarthur Coal has recorded a fall in coal sales during the March quarter, but says it is in line with expectations. It says despite the weaker sales, it expects to exceed its forecasted sales target of 3.9 million tonnes for the year to June 30.
Macarthur Coal says the global financial crisis is reducing demand for
steel making coal, but it has been able to partially offset the fall by
increasing thermal coal sales.
