port2_thumb_thumb_thumb_thumb_thumb_thumb_thumb_thumb.jpgAs the ongoing strike at Kochi Port over the new manning scale issue entered the third day on Wednesday, the port management has clarified that “there is absolutely no question of reviewing the matter as the port is giving effect to a court order.” “We are giving effect to the order of the court in this regard and this has also been agreed by the unions and the management,” Mr N. Ramachandran, Chairman of the port, said.
He pointed out that part of the agreement which involves the obligations of the unions and federations would be honoured. The unions have already taken full benefit of the agreement and they are bound to honour the agreement.
On the allegations that no other ports implemented the Tribunal Award, the Chairman said that Visakhapatnam and Paradip have fully implemented and the remaining ports had issued orders in this regard.
