Zhejiang to build 10 million tonne steel base in Ningbo

Shanghai Securities News reported that East China Zhejiang province is mulling to build a 10 million tonnes scale coastal steel production base in Ningbo in the wake of BaoSteel’s regrouping of Ningbo Steel. According to the industrial upgrading program discussed lately, local government aims to send local crude steel production capacity to 13 million tonnes or so and keep stainless steel capacity at 3 million tonnes or so. As per report, Auto, shipbuilding, steel, electronic information and medicine industries were picked up by the program for main support in the next four years.
