The Copenhagen based shipping company, Clipper, came out of 2009 with a deficit of 600 million Danish kroner, not least caused by the unfortunate investment in the Samsoe ferry Kanhave, owned by the ferry company Nordic Ferry Service.
"We ended up losing a lot of money on the ferry, which had a impact on
our result", says Henrik Lund Dahl, financial director in Clipper Group.
Clipper's activities in the Danish ferry service are estimated to render
one fourth of the total loss, corresponding to about 150 million Danish
kroner.
Clipper also lost money on cargo shipping in the Irish Sea and on tanker
shipping.
