U.S. crude imports fell last week as less oil reached U.S. ports from Mexico and Saudi Arabia, even as top-supplier Canada slightly boosted shipments, U.S. government data showed. Mexican crude imports slid to just 813,000 barrels per day in the week to Sept.
24 from 1.1 million bpd a week earlier, and an average 1.1 million bpd
during 2009, according to weekly preliminary data from the U.S. Energy
Information Administration.
Crude imports from Saudi Arabia fell to 614,000 bpd last week, well
below an average 1 million bpd during 2009. Canada, the top U.S.

slightly from 1.73 million bpd in the previous week, but down from last
year's average 1.94 million bpd. EIA data released earlier on Wednesday
